Safety Reflectors
A beautiful safety reflector is like a piece of jewelry that complements outfits and works great as an accessory on a jacket, bag or, for instance, a tassel on a beanie. The more practical and beautiful the safety reflector is, the easier it will be to match with different outfits. Remember that only when used properly will the safety reflector save lives. Although traditionally functionality has been most important, a safety reflector should not be only considered as a mandatory part of clothing for fall and winter. Actually, it can act as a year-round piece of jewelry. Once attached to a jacket, bag or pants the reflector is not easily forgotten. The jewelry reflector is a beautiful accessory for everyday use and provides security whenever visibility is more limited in traffic, i.e. also on dim summer mornings and evenings, in rain and fog.
Each safety reflector offers alternative attachment methods: it can be conveniently secured with a durable metal lock, a longer slender metal chain, or combinations thereof. The reflector can also be attached to a knitted hat like a tassel. With a longer chain, the reflector attaches neatly around the handle or strap of a bag. The metal lock on the other hand can be fixed to the loop of the zipper or pants or even to the edge of the pocket.
The Lasessorshine collection includes several beautiful jewelry reflectors that fit many styles, both as an accessory and as a decoration. LASESSOR safety reflectors are designed in Finland and made of durable, high-quality materials in responsible factories.
The safety reflector helps to be visible in traffic. Pedestrians and cyclists moving in dark or low visibility conditions are often difficult to spot. The motorist often detects a pedestrian moving without a reflector, far too late to react safely. For instance, a motorist driving with high beams can see an object passing without a reflector in the dark from a maximum distance of 150 m. A passer-by using a proper safety reflector can on the other hand be seen from a distance of up to 600m, giving a longer reaction distance giving the motorist more time to dodge safely. The Road Accident Investigation Boards have estimated that about one in six pedestrian accidents could have been avoided by using an appropriate reflector.
The reflector is defined as a safety device under the European Union's Personal Protective Equipment Directive. Thus, the official product title safety reflector may only be used by products that have been tested, been proven safe and have meet the criteria for personal protective equipment classified as safety reflectors. The quality and safety of the reflectors are verified by measuring the total luminous intensity and surface area of the reflector according to the European Union standards EN13356: 2001 and EN17353: 2020.
